One could say that Argentario has been a consistent part of my life since the very beginning - from running along the then secluded and sandy beach of Le Cannelle as a little girl; to the days when I used to fill my yellow, soft-top beetle with as many teenage friends as possible and conquer the dramatic panoramic road to Porto Ercole; to subsequently meeting there my husband to be, Hamish. It is for these reasons that Argentario has always been so close to my heart.

More recently, London based friends and acquaintances would contact me asking whether I knew of villas available for rent in Argentario in the summer; while simultaneously Italian friends of my parents, who had owned property on Argentario for many years, would contact me saying that they were interested in renting their second homes for a few weeks a year. It was through spotting the opportunity of offering people the chance, for a few weeks a year, to experience the lifestyle and privilege of staying in very exclusive and private second homes that ‘Isola Rossa, Tuscany by the Sea’ was born.

Since then, a small number of inland holiday homes and farmhouses in the Tuscan Maremma near Capalbio, classical villas and castles in the Chianti area of Tuscany, apartments in Rome and some international properties have been added to the portfolio. Yet, the ethos remains the same today as it was at the outset – to offer the very best accommodation of its type in Monte Argentario, Italy and elsewhere.
